Treatment Overview

The Tenex Health TX® System eliminates chronic tendon pain by precisely targeting and removing damaged tissue, without the need for conventional surgery. It is a safe, single procedure that takes minutes to perform under local anesthesia. Used with ultrasound guidance, Tenex Health TX allows physicians to precisely cut and remove diseased tendons or plantar fascia percutaneously through a mini incision. An ultrasonic cutting action spares healthy soft tissue.4 For most patients, this means less discomfort and a return to activity up to 4 times faster than open surgery.2

It is clinically proven to treat tendon pain, with patient satisfaction in over 85% of patients, as shown in multiple studies.1 Tenex Health TX is FDA cleared, and is supported by more than 100 independent, peer-reviewed articles in medical journals. Over 240,000 patients have been treated.

What to expect with the Tenex procedure

The simple procedure takes place in an outpatient setting. You typically remain awake while your doctor uses local anesthesia. It proceeds with a quick look using diagnostic imaging (such as ultrasound, fluoroscopy, or a C-Arm) to determine the exact source of your pain. Your doctor then makes a mini-incision and inserts the TX MicroTip. Using advanced ultrasonic energy, under imaging guidance, it precisely cuts and removes diseased soft tissue while preserving healthy tendons.

Your doctor will apply a sterile gauze. No stitches required.

Your doctor may recommend resting for a period, followed by range-of-motion and strength exercises. Recovery instructions may vary based on your specific condition.

Tendonitis or Chronic Tendon Disease?

Tendonitis is inflammation of a tendon – the thick, fibrous cords that attach muscle to bone. It causes joint pain, especially when exercising or doing repetitive motions. Sometimes your tendon may also be weak, red, swollen and warm to the touch. If these symptoms persist past 3 months, you may have Chronic Tendon Disease.
